The County of San Diego is currently accepting applications for the position of

Licensed Vocational Nurse


Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's) provide skilled nursing care to patients and clients at a long term skilled nursing facility, a mental health facilities (locked, inpatient, and day treatment), or public health clinics. Current vacancy is with Edgemoor Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current license to practice vocational nursing in the State of California.

Notes

· Current CPR card is required at time of appointment.

· A valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI) is required at time of employment.

· Certification or completion of courses in Blood Withdrawal and/or IV Therapy is highly desirable.

· For incumbents located at the San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital, a valid PRO-ACT (Professional

Assault Crisis and Restraint Certification Training) Certification is highly desirable. New incumbents must complete this training during orientation and prior to working with patients.

· Incumbents may be subjected to communicable diseases and persons that may be potentially violent or disturbed.

Evaluation

The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a twelve (12) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental application. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate as the responses you provide on the supplemental application form will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system. If you are successful in the initial screening process, your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
