This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.
Duties:

1. Responsible for coordination of all Veteran Officer Trainings for the Boylston Training Academy requiring scheduling and implementing training programs; schedule instructors for each training; collection and confirmation of each veteran officer application for training, creation and distribution of necessary curriculums, assessments and exams including answer sheets and keys, attendance sheets and visual aides, to ensure that required trainings are offered, conducted, tracked and assessed for regional police officers and recruits.
2. Responsible for providing training schedules to all Boylston Academy Police departments and coordinating the attendance of police officers to the Trainings offered to ensure that veteran officer trainings are available to regional police officers.
3. Responsible for administering, correcting, tracking and issuing of letters of completion and deficiency for all examinations to ensure that examination results are maintained on agency database for availability to veteran officers and/or various law enforcement entities upon request.
4. Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and tracking of Boylston Academy training budgets to include providing, collecting and processing of payment vouchers from all contracted instructors, ordering of necessary supplies and equipment, to ensure that instructors have the necessary supplies and equipment to conduct trainings and that instructors receive accurate compensation for trainings provided.
5. Responsible for securing, scheduling and preparing classroom space and Firearms Ranges for all trainings to include physical preparation and set-up of classrooms for training specific needs to ensure appropriate space is available for each required training.
6. Maintain weekly attendance rosters for all trainings, and ensure accurate records are kept on each veteran and recruit officer trainings.
7. Perform related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.*

II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*

III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*

*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the coordination and implementation of all aspects of training programs, preferably in law enforcement.
