The Attorney General?s Office seeks a qualified attorney with both extensive computer and prosecutorial experience.

Primary Duties: Under the direction of the Chief of the Cyber Crime Division, the applicant will be responsible for:
1. Handling a large caseload of cyber crime matters from investigation through sentencing. Cases will include economic crimes such as larceny and embezzlement, securities and bank fraud, consumer fraud and identity theft, public corruption, including bribery, tax crimes, and computer crimes such as possession and dissemination of child pornography, theft of trade secrets, stalking/harassment, and hacking. The work includes extensive grand jury investigations throughout the Commonwealth, complex motion practice and frequent appearances before the Commonwealth?s District and Superior Courts for motions, pleas and trials;
2. Leading investigations conducted with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police Troopers and financial investigators of the Attorney General?s Office, as well as investigators of other agencies, such as the Department of Revenue and the Office of the Inspector General;

3. Working with Assistant Attorneys General in other divisions of the office and overseeing search warrants and other matters involving digital evidence.
4. Advising and assisting in the implementation of the Attorney General?s Cyber Crime Initiative including, but not limited to, creating and implementing state-wide forensic standards and creating and implementing trainings for law enforcement and forensic examiners;
5. Teaching at training programs throughout the Commonwealth and country, as well as attending appropriate trainings throughout the country.


Position Requirements: Applicants must be practicing attorneys and members of the Massachusetts bar; possess the ability to handle a large and advanced caseload; and have substantial Superior Court experience (3 or more years) in criminal practice (preferably as a prosecutor), including grand jury investigations, motion practice and trials. A strong background in computer forensics and cyber crime prosecution and trainings is preferred. A valid Massachusetts Driver?s license is required as travel is necessary to various courts.
