Mental Health Conservatorship Clinician

The County of San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency has an immediate full-time opportunity for a licensed professional mental health clinician to be responsible for interpreting and applying the Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act regarding conservatorship for persons who are gravely disabled and suffering from mental disorders. Incumbents are responsible for conducting investigations in compliance with the LPS Act; coordinating involuntary mental health treatment and placement for clients; writing comprehensive reports; making recommendations to the Superior Court, and acting on behalf of the Public Conservator.

Required Education and/or Experience:

1. A current license as a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Counselor by the State of California; AND,

2. Three (3) years of full-time, post-degree, professional experience in a public or private agency performing clinical assessment or case management services to individuals with chronic mental impairment.
