Duties:

Responsible for office support and creating a welcoming atmosphere for Health Services in a multi-task, fast paced environment. Provides direct contact with students, determines appropriate action needed and makes referral and follow up as needed according to office protocol. Collects reviews and accurately enters required medical documentation in an integrated student data base system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct service to students, faculty and staff on matters relating to Health Services.

Maintains a basic knowledge of current federal, state, and local Department of Public Health policies and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining Health Services? college immunization database and records according to office protocol. Proficient in immunization record review and data entry in order to meet statewide immunization compliance guidelines.

Assists Coordinator in the daily operations of Health Services. Organizes, prioritizes and coordinates clerical/ administrative responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner as assigned. Functions include Excel budgetary reports, logs, Health Services team reports, inventory control and purchasing.

Performs clerical duties such as word processing, immunization data entry, scanning, indexing records, file maintenance, copying, faxing, note-taking, mail distribution, and organizing activities for programming and office staff.

Works as a team member of the Health Services department.

Maintains strict confidentiality and assists Coordinator in maintaining continuity of services across multiple campuses. In the absence of nurse, maintains Health Services? office, evaluates and determines necessity of alerting Campus Police as first responders in emergency medical situations.

Provides coverage for Health Services Department during busy student registration periods, educational outreach sessions, programming and graduation.

Qualifications:

An Associate?s degree plus three years of related work experience, preferably in a medical office setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry required.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, preferable in a multi-cultural work setting required.

Ability to prepare equipment and assist clinicians as needed.

Experience with electronic records/ integrated database systems (i.e. Banner) preferred.

Prior customer service experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.

Must be organized, detail oriented, dependable, have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a calm demeanor during emergency situations.

Demonstrated ability to interact with students and outside agencies to resolve problems and maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and other protected information.

Ability to work occasional evenings during peak registration and outreach sessions, and for graduation.

Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
