The County of San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency is seeking a Psychiatric Social Worker Coordinator to fill a vacancy at the Edgemoor Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility (DPSNF) located at 655 Park Center Drive, Santee, CA 92071. As a Psychiatric Social Worker Coordinator, you will lead, direct, supervise, train and motivate a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals and develop, update and implement social work standards, policies and procedures for outpatient, acute care and skilled nursing facility units.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of California; AND,
  • A master's degree from an accredited U.S. graduate school of social work, or completion of a qualifying doctor's or master's degree program that qualifies for LCSW or MFT licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; AND,
  • Five (5) years of post-Master's degree progressively responsible professional experience in behavioral health.
  • Note: One (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred.

    Required Attachments
    In order for your education to be considered, you must attach a copy of your degree transcripts, diploma and/or foreign studies equivalency certification to your application. Required attachments submitted on or after February 29, 2008 do not need to be resubmitted. Please submit only the documents required.

    Ideal Candidate
    The ideal candidate will have experience in long term care setting working with residents having complex medical conditions and secondary psychiatric diagnoses with behavioral issues. Prior experience providing clinical supervision of social work and/or mental health professionals. Experience in completing MDS, regulatory knowledge regarding social work services, social work assessments, and discharge planning is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience with public mental health systems and San Diego resources related to discharge planning options. Knowledge and involvement in interdisciplinary treatment process, performance improvement, program development, excellent communication skills and leadership ability are key to this position.

    Evaluation
    Qualified applicants will be placed on a twelve (12) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in the supplemental questionnaire.
