HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR

The Health and Human Services Agency is seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to fill Health and Human Services Administrator vacancies in Eligibility Operations located at 1255 Imperial Ave., San Diego.

Health and Human Services Administrators work with the following programs: CalFRESH, CalWORKs, Welfare to Work, Child Care, Medi-Cal, Low Income Health Program and as a Family Resource Center Manager.

Duties can include the following: Plan/assign tasks and establish work expectations for a variety of Program Specialists and/or front line staff; develop and recommend program or operations policies and procedures; guide staff to research and analyze information and work with program and operations staff to make appropriate decisions for San Diego County; support and/or lead Family Resource Center operations, while ensuring performance measures; produce statistical reports used for operations, performance measures and other management reporting needs; perform data extracts and analyze and interpret data; establish effective relations with other internal and external customers; responsible for planning and directing social or health services programs; handle complex disciplinary issues; establish work quality and performance standards; work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities, while providing high quality service in a timely manner to customers, Agency employees, representatives of outside agencies, and community based organizations.

Qualifying Experience
  • One (1) year of public or private sector experience managing and directing operations of a family resource center, large division, or multiple programs/units, or a highly visible program within a health or social services agency; OR,
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Supervising Human Services Specialist, AND one (1) year of experience as a Program Specialist II, Alcohol and Drug Program Specialist, Administrative Analyst II, or equivalent; OR,
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Adult Protective Services Supervisor, Aging Program Specialist III, Protective Services Supervisor, Social Work Supervisor, or equivalent.

    Evaluation
    Qualified applicants will be placed on a twelve (12) month eligible list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in the employment and supplemental applications.
