The purpose of this position is to be the sole recognized resource to the Criminal Justice Information Center (CJIC) for performing regulatory technical security compliance analysis as required by the federal Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Provide technical analyses, interpretations and/or evaluations of complex network and operational processes and electronic data pertinent to CJIS. This position will prepare and conduct technical security process analysis through examining external and internal CJIS user agency information systems to include network configurations, access controls, records, policies, practices, and procedures to identify issues of noncompliance of various criminal justice information systems.

This position is the primary resource responsible for the development of policies, procedures, schedules, and provides recommendations and/or follow-up on completed technical security compliance analysis. In conjunction with the compliance analysis, training will be provided to all CJIS users on the guidelines for security, confidentiality, and integrity of criminal justice information (CJI) received during the course of business.

Position Description

Required Education and Experience:
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

This position requires passing a criminal history background check and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.

Applicants will be screened on the following:

  • At least one year of experience presenting investigated findings and/or recommendations of complex technical information systems to a customer or client.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice information systems
  • Knowledge of the CJIS Security Policy
  • Documented experience applying policies and working with policies.
  • Strong written communication skills to include style, accuracy and organization as evidenced in the resume and cover letter.
  • High attention to details; errors on resume and cover letter will be weighed.
