PER COUNTY RULES, THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR APPOINTMENT AT STEP 1, $40,892.80. County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for Step Placement in Accordance with Comp Ord 1.3.5.

The Sheriff's Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for Detention Processing Supervisor positions with strong multi-tasking and supervisory skills that can work both independently and in a team environment. Detention Processing Supervisors are first-line supervisors responsible for the processing of arrestees in accordance with legal statutes, court orders, sentencing regulations and departmental policy/procedures. The ideal candidate is someone who can supervise efficiently, communicate effectively, promote team spirit and cooperation and motivate employees to support the goals and vision of the division.
To qualify, you must be willing to work any shift, on holidays and weekends in a locked detention facility and possess one of the following:
  • Eighteen (18) months experience as a Detention Processing Technician; AND, one (1) year of prior supervisory or management experience; OR,
  • Three (3) years as a Detention Processing Technician; OR,
  • Three (3) years experience as a supervisor in a court, detention or law enforcement setting.

Prior to appointment, candidates will be subject to a background investigation, truth verification examination, and employment interview.

Evaluation:

The names of qualified candidates will be placed on a twelve (12) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental questionnaire. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate as the responses you provide on the supplemental application questionnaire will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system. If you are successful in the initial screening process your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
